- In operation on the CS2 PIAF
- An independent server, configured to implement striping across N disks
- Uses modified FTP to move the nTuple file into N files on N disks
- The nTuple is “chopped” to stripe
- Decides on the stripe size by reading the HBOOK signature in the nTuple (requires buffering the first two records) ; it uses the RZ record length as the basis of the stripe.
- Replaces the DPM sfget by a new routine, pfget, to return the stub file for each of the N stripes
- The low level routine RZIODO has been modified to read the right stripe file depending on the record required
