Todays HEP data analysis tool - the Physics Analysis Workstation
PAW - developed over many years in house
Data managed by the ZEBRA package, which uses the OS filesystem to store
- binary nTuples files. nTuples are a tabular representation of physics data, stored in row-wise or column-wise format on disk/tape
- binary histogram files. Histograms are bins of data with associated labelling, error bars, fit parameters, etc.
- ASCII data such as vectors or columns of results
Data analysed by packages from the CERN Program Library, integrated into the system:
- fitting (MINUIT), smoothing, array manipulation (SIGMA), F77 interpretation (COMIS) etc.
Data presented as nD plots
