The need for a PAW Replacement
Why replace PAW?
- Restrictions imposed by the nTuple data model:
- Like tables in an RDBMS, nTuples are limited in size, are tabular and cannot express complex relationships.
- They cannot be shared, are buggy, inefficient.
- Doesnt scale to PetaBytes: book-keeping nightmare
- Hard to maintain:
- Size of the system, tight coupling between components, all or nothing design, not modular, not scalable, no industry standards used.
- Hard to customize:
- Source very complicated, interdependency nightmare, all or nothing design: not modular.
- Non-standard (but powerful) interface
